Domestic violence can be labeled as an equal-opportunity destroyer. It doesn’t discriminate. Victims as well as their abusers can be male, female, young, old, gay and or straight. Race nor religion makes a difference & neither does your economical status or your educational status. Anyone can have their lives altered & or even destroyed by domestic violence. When someone speaks of domestic violence or intimate partner violence, one may think of the average woman with unexplained bruises, ready to give an explanation. But domestic violence is so much more than that. Abusers use physical and sexual violence, threats, intimidation, emotional abuse and economic deprivation. An abusive relationship can involve any or all of these.
